Hi, we’re Aurélie and Henri

Aurélie est une grande rêveuse, née dans une ferme non loin d’ici, passionnée de chevaux, baroudeuse dans l’âme, et jamais à court d’idées. Elle aime profondément la pierre, la terre, les chemins, et tout ce qui a une âme.

Henri, lui, est Saumurois, arrivé à Brest pour le travail… et il y est resté, surtout après notre rencontre ! Ensemble, nous avons rénové entièrement son appartement en ville, que nous proposons aujourd’hui en location courte durée. Mais moi, fille de la campagne, j’aspirais à retrouver un bout de terre, de silence et d’histoire.

Après un an de recherches, nous avons découvert Kerozet, et nous sommes tout simplement tombés amoureux de ce lieu. Et quelle histoire…

Aurélie is a big dreamer, born on a farm not far from here. She’s passionate about horses, a true adventurer at heart, and full of creative ideas. She deeply loves stone, soil, trails – and anything with a soul.
Henri is from Saumur, and work brought him to Brest… where he stayed, especially after we met! Together, we fully renovated his city apartment, which we now rent as a short-term stay. But as a country girl, I longed for a place with land, peace, and a story.

After a year of searching, we discovered Kerozet – and it was love at first sight. And what a story this place has…

A place full of history

Le Manoir de Kerozet, dont le nom pourrait signifier village de chanvre ou village tourné vers la mer, existe depuis le XVIIe siècle.

Au fil des siècles, il fut maison noble, étable, écurie de chevaux de trait, et même théâtre d’histoires locales : poulinages mouvementés, soldats perdus, vie rude et travail à la faux. Abandonné dans les années 80, il est resté en ruine jusqu’à ce qu’un projet un peu fou le ramène à la vie : en 2020, nous avons repris le flambeau à travers un chantier participatif, avec l’envie de redonner à ce lieu toute sa chaleur et son âme. Aujourd’hui, le manoir renaît, pierre après pierre, pour accueillir des voyageurs en quête d’authenticité.

Deux inscriptions latines sur la façade vous accueillent :

“Pax Vobis” – Paix sur vous

“Diligite ad invicem” – Aimez-vous les uns les autres

The “Manoir de Kerozet” (possibly meaning “hemp village” or “village facing the sea”) has existed since the 17th century. Over the centuries, it’s been a noble house, cow stable, horse barn, and the stage for local tales – foaling accidents, lost soldiers, hard work with a scythe in the fields…Abandoned in the 1980s, it stayed in ruins until 2020, when we took over the project through a participative building site, with the dream of bringing warmth and soul back to the place.Today, the manor is being reborn, stone by stone, to welcome travelers in search of authenticity.

Two Latin inscriptions greet you on the front wall:
“Pax Vobis” – Peace be upon you
“Diligite ad invicem” – Love one another

🛏 Pourquoi des chambres chez l’habitant ?

Why offer rooms in our home?

À la base, on n’avait pas prévu de faire de la location courte durée. On a acheté sur un vrai coup de cœur, avec deux chambres en trop. On a commencé petit, avec du camping chez l’habitant, puis un jour, on a ouvert notre maison. (C’est Henri qui flippait le plus… il n’est pas trop baroudeur 😅) On a testé doucement, pris notre temps… Et aujourd’hui, on est rodés. Et surtout, on a compris que c’était une belle façon de financer notre projet.

We didn’t plan to rent rooms when we bought the place – it was a true heart decision. We had two extra rooms, and started small with camping in the garden. Eventually, we opened the house. (Henri was the most nervous – not much of a wanderer himself!). We took our time, made a few test runs… and now we’ve got the hang of it! More importantly, it became a meaningful way to help fund our renovation project.

And what a project!

Nous avons acheté sans demander de prêt travaux, juste avec un peu d’épargne… qui a vite fondu avec l’atelier et la toiture de la grange ! Alors on a ouvert notre maison à vous, voyageurs, baroudeurs, parfois devenus amis.

Notre rêve ? Redonner vie au domaine, et vivre un peu autrement. On imagine :

🛖 Deux gîtes de charme,

🐴 Une écurie pour mon cheval l'hiver

🐔 Un vrai poulailler, pour les œufs frais,

🍞 Un four à pain traditionnel,

🔥 Un espace détente, rustique et simple, pour prendre le temps.

🛠 Un atelier de bricolage

Mais au fond, ce projet, c’est aussi une envie d’autonomie : planter des fruitiers, créer un potager, élever peut-être un cochon, transformer, conserver, partager… Et retrouver le rythme des anciens, en vivant plus connecté à la nature, à la terre, aux saisons.

C’est un chantier à long terme, fait de passion, de rencontres, et de beaucoup de bonne volonté.

We bought the property without a renovation loan – only with a little savings… which quickly vanished with the workshop and the barn roof! So, we opened our home to you: travelers, wanderers, some of whom became friends.

Our dream? To bring the estate back to life – and live a little differently. We imagine:
🛖 Two cozy guest cottages,
🐴 A welcoming stable for visiting horses,
🐔 A real chicken coop for fresh eggs,
🍞 A traditional bread oven,
🔥 A rustic, peaceful space to slow down and breathe.

But deep down, this project is also about seeking more autonomy – planting fruit trees, creating a vegetable garden, maybe raising a pig, preserving, sharing… Reconnecting with the rhythm of the old ways, and living closer to nature, the land, and the seasons.

It’s a long-term journey, fueled by passion, great people, and a whole lot of heart.
